Collection: Non-Shed Rugs

Non-shed rugs are designed for those who want a well-crafted rug without the upkeep that shedding pile can bring. Shedding is a natural characteristic of certain constructions, particularly cut-pile and shag styles in wool or wool-blend fibres. Our non-shed rugs use constructions and fibres that minimise or eliminate this entirely, making them a practical choice for bedrooms, living rooms, and any space where loose fibres would be a regular nuisance.

The collection includes flatweave, low-pile, and tufted styles across a range of aesthetics, from clean and contemporary through to more textural looks. A non-shed construction does not mean a compromise on feel: many options are touchably soft underfoot while remaining straightforward to vacuum and maintain. Flat weave rugs sit alongside this collection for those who want the most low-maintenance construction available. For living rooms with upholstered furniture in lighter fabrics, where loose fibres tend to show and accumulate, a non-shed rug is a particularly considered choice.

For homes with pets, a non-shed construction removes one layer of cleaning from the equation. Our pet friendly rugs cover the broader picture of what works in a household with animals and overlap with this collection across a number of styles. Washable rugs offer the additional convenience of machine washing alongside a non-shedding finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the right rug size for my room? Icon

To choose the right living room rug size, start by measuring your space. The goal is to pick a rug large enough to fit your furniture on it, creating a unified look. For smaller rooms, a rug in front of the furniture works well too.

Non-Shedding Rugs: Durable & Stain Resistant High Traffic Styles

Non-shed rugs tend to wear evenly and maintain their appearance well over time, making them a considered long-term investment for frequently used spaces. The constructions that minimise shedding are also among the most durable available, so the practical benefits compound over the life of the rug.

High traffic rugs and stain resistant rugs are worth exploring alongside this collection for a full picture of what is available for a busy household. A rug underlay beneath any rug on smooth flooring keeps it securely in place and protects the surface underneath.
